Number 28: MOAR POSTINGZ!?!1!0

Surprisingly enough, yes. It's been nearly two months now since the last post, but since I'm finding myself with so much extra time on my hands, I figured I might as well type a little something up.

So it's summer. It's kind of hot and muggy out, it's rained a few times, but overall it's actually going fairly smoothly. I'm actually surprised, because normally summer ends up being one long, drawn-out session of "Let's play video games and watch Dragonball Z until I pass out!" day in and day out. But I've actually been productive lately, which is bizarre, but I'm rarely productive. I took care of some of the weeding and general-lawn care way ahead of time, I moved around and vacuumed my room so that it's relatively dust-free, and I started my summer reading. That last one is probably going to end up biting me in the ass in the end, though, since I'll probably forget most of it by the end of August. I posted on the "THS Summer Reading Blog 2008" MacArthur put up, so if you found this page from there, congratulations!

Disney-Pixar's WALL-E came out today to universally acclaimed reviews. Which makes me happy, because it just looks so adorable. Plus, it has a message! Hooray for messages! I mean, the whole "save the planet" thing did show up in "An Inconvenient Truth" and such, but was it really applicable to children? With WALL-E, the mass-consumer that is kids and tweens will soon be planting flowers and trees in their backyards in a vain attempt to save the environment. Even still, every little bit counts, right? Between this and The Dark Knight, my summer movie experience is more or less set.

Other than that, there really isn't much else to go on about. so I guess I'll leave it at that. See you in a few days!...or weeks!...or months.

Number 27: Less Than Three!

The new Gavin DeGraw single, "In Love With a Girl" has been out for a couple weeks now, but I just suddenly got addicted. It's just so good! Ahhh! And I'll justify my love by saying that Entertainment Weekly listed it as the album's "Download This" track. So there.

So, prom is this Friday. Really quick, that's prom. Wow. Uhh... it's going to rain on Friday. At least, that's what the Forecast Channel on my Wii said, and of course that's a reliable source. But you never know; the weather might change between now and then. Oh, and today for Student Council we began with the "Don't Drink and Drive" movement that they push every year. We had bracelets and posters and ribbons and such. It certainly is a good movement, but is it effective? Honestly, I couldn't say. I know for a fact that, after prom, people are going to go back to their houses or to some barn or something and get drunk and laid. As long as they don't kill themselves doing it, or get somebody pregnant, they can go right ahead and do so. I know my generation well enough to know that you really can't separate a football player/cheerleader and their beer-pong, no matter how many ribbons you hang. It's sad, but it's true. What'll I be doing after prom? I dunno... ice cream?

The Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament is shaping up very nicely, to be honest. Even though we've hit some snags along the way, we've gotten past them each and every time. The video cables hook up fine to the school projectors, even in the auditorium (Smash on the Big Screen?!?), the posters and such have been put up around the school... just a valiant effort on everyone's part. I gotta hand it to all the people who have been helping out with this project; Chris, Graham, Brandon, Brian, thanks a million. Biggest thanks to Kevin, though, for pretty much taking the initiative and bringing everything together. Only thing we need now is actual participants... but that shouldn't be a problem. I'm optimistic!

Really not much to be said today. Expect at least one or two more posts this week, and a lot more in the future thanks to the Future Post option. Alright, see you!

Number 26: Fixed

After about a month of waiting, the blog feeder that I use on my facebook was finally fixed, so I figured I might as well write up an entry to celebrate. I could've gone ahead and went to a different provider, but it would've just been too much work. And after all, my provider would've had to start working again eventually, right? Well, it's here now, so I might as well tell what's happened the past month.

Uhh... so prom's coming up. Oh yes, prom prom prom prom prom prom prom prom promenade! Is it big news? Yes. Yes it is. After renting a tux, semi-securing a ride, and purchasing my ticket, I'm pretty much all set for the event on May 9th. Was it a lot of hard work? Oh yeah, way more work than it warrants. Was it expensive? Oh, beyond expensive, and probably even more so for other people. Is it going to be worth it? In the end, yeah, it will be worth it. Prom is the sort of thing that you only get a few times in your life, so you'd best not pass it up, whippersnapper. Y'know? It's the time that you look back upon fondly. And it's the one night of the year where everybody you know gets to be classy. Hooray for classy! Yeah, I'm not a stickler for fashion or anything like that, but it's nice to do it once in a while. What confuses me slightly is where it is. The place where they're holding it (which I've heard is a wonderful place) is practically an hour from town. It's kind of ridiculous, in my opinion. But hey, we are an elitist school, so of course we'd have to have the best kind of accommodations available. Duh!

As for other news, it's finally raining. Yup. Was nice and shining bright weather all last week, and the weathermen kept saying, "Man, do we need some rain. Oh yeah, come on rain!" So then, when it actually does rain, the first thing I hear on the news this morning is, "Well, it's a wet, dreary, and disappointing day today..." But weren't you just asking for rain a few days ago? Seriously! Make up your mind! People are just too fickle, you know? They complain in the summer because it's too hot, they complain in the winter because it's too cold. You really can't satisfy people, you know?

And LOST is dwindling down. Four weeks left of episodes, which is nice. Yep, finally some mysteries will be answered. Who live and who dies in the season finale? What exactly is the smoke monster? Who exactly is Jacob? And who the hell is in that coffin?!? Oh, the suspense is killing me!

That's it for now, catch you later!

Number 25: Never Gonna Give You Up

Never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you.

Yeah... it seriously doesn't get any better than that. So today was enjoyable, or awesome, or great. Or I guess, in layman's terms, it was fun. Yeah, today was fun. M'best friend came over and we chilled, and that's really all you need to do to make a day great. Yeah! We played video games, sang songs, ate sandwiches, took walks down the train tracks, and picked up sticks. And we listened to Rick Astley! So yeah, like I said, doesn't get any better than that. It's really days like these where you can look out at that bright sunshine and go, "Ahh, this is what Life's all about!"

And since I got some work done, it makes the experience that much more meaningful. I mean, if I had just sat around and did nothing exciting, I'd have to go and do work afterwards. But I already did work, so therefore it was worthwhile...

Wait, what?

So now I get to relax for the remainder of the day. Chill out, watch some movies, etc. etc. I suppose that today's post really didn't have much meaning behind it, but who cares? It's my blog. Ha! Yeah, that's it for today, catch ya later.

Number 24: Monday, Monday

(Sorry if the page looks messy. Screwed up something with the font and color and such and I can't get it back. Oh well.)

The blog feeder on my facebook page isn't working. Sorry. If you use that to normally get here... well, it's not working. You'll have to just take the link at the top of the page, next to the thing that says Website. I'm about ready to get rid of the stupid thing... Perhaps just get a new application? Ehh.

So it's the first Monday of spring break. It certainly is nice out, oh yes. Very calm cool weather, a lot unlike the tremulous and terribly stormy weather the meteorologists predicted last week. "Rain all day, every day!" they said. Yeah... I don't see no rain out there. Sorry. All I see is spring. Yes. Glorious, sunny, shining, sweet-smelling spring. Quite possibly the best season of them all. I mean, think about it; nice fresh days, little to no precipitation (at least no snowstorms), and girls in their summer clothes. Does it get any better?

So finally, after weeks and weeks of deliberation, the Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament has finally been greenlighted. Organization and such will commence over the next week or two, and the event will take place at the new high school on Thursday, May 15. In all honesty, I'm beyond excited; I'm ecstatic. Rarely do any of the plans I make up ever come to fruition, probably because I'm so quick to just give up. But not this time; this time I stuck with it, because it was something I thought would be fun, and because it was for a good cause. So probably going to discuss things such as regulations and advertising on Wednesday, and actually start putting up posters and such later next week. Huzzah!

So I'm a procrastinator. Probably not something I'd like to admit, but it's oh-so-true. Even still, that doesn't mean I don't get the work done, oh no. I get it done, and it's always top notch. But I mean, here's what I have to deal with this week:

  • Run through the 30-40 interest letters I've gotten from colleges. They're literally piling up next to my dresser, and I haven't taken a single look at any of them...
  • Get my driving permit. Seriously. Uhh, I've been sixteen for eight months now, so I guess it's time to get a move on.
  • Work on the various projects and make-up work assigned to me over the vacation. I've got one book to read for English, a paper to write for Psychology, and a molecule project for Chemistry. Of course, even if I say I'll start it today in this blog, nothing's going to get done until Friday Saturday. Again, procrastinating.
  • Organize regulations, advertisements, assistance, and such for the tournament. At least this is remotely fun. It's work, but it's fun work.
  • Blog at least twice more this week since I didn't do any last week.

Vacation shouldn't be too bad, oh no, not at all. Hah! So that's pretty much it, I'll see you around.
